Belgium

With a stunning number of pubs and restaurants, Belgium earns more Michelin stars per capita than anyone else. Flavors are strongly French with a Dutch-German accent. Typical dishes include mussels mariniere, anguilles en vert (eels in green herbs), and waterzooi (chicken cream soup). The Belgians brought the world the endive, the waffle, and limburger cheese; extraordinary chocolates and pastries. Belgian beer is diverse and superb; each type is served in a glass shaped to bring out its flavor. Perhaps most famous is Belgian lambic, fruity, dry and effervescent, and quality-controlled by the European Union.

About me:

Sauteed Swiss Chard with Parmesan Cheese

Reviewed on Aug. 12, 2008 by SunFlower
A nice and healthy recipe for Swiss chard! For those who find it too bitter, try adding some heavy cream to the cooked vegetables.
