Columbus, Ohio

Ohio’s capital and largest city, Columbus is located almost exactly in the center of the state. Columbus saw a sharp population increase in 1831 when the National Road reached it from Cumberland, Maryland, and ultimately extended to Illinois. Immigrants were mostly Irish and German. Today, German Village and the Brewery District are historic areas in the 223-acre neighborhood where public tours take visitors through cottages and Queen Anne Victorian homes. Another historic landmark is the North Market, a culinary smorgasbord of prepared foods including sushi and pad thai, bratwurst, pizza, salsa, and more, with a seasonal open-air farmers market selling produce, cheese, honey, and herbs.

Sausage Egg Puff

Reviewed on Aug. 28, 2008 by Julia
Very good and easy to make. I cooked sausage in microwave to cut down on mess of browning it. I didn't have shredded cheddar so I cubed my cheese, which left great little gooey cheese pockets..yum! I woke up late and didn't have 30 min to leave it out so I microwaved it on level 2 for 4 minutes to knocked the chill off the casserole dish. Great tasting breakfast casserole ITS A KEEPER!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed on Aug. 26, 2008 by BuckeyeGrl
These muffins were terrific! The reason for the 4 stars is the topping. You could definitely get away with making 1/2 of the topping recipe and still have plenty. Personally I thought the topping was too sugary and somewhat overpowered the other flavors, so I ended up scraping a lot of the topping off mine. Next time I will try the muffins without it. The muffins themselves though...OMG! So good! I added an extra 1/2 to 3/4 cup of blueberries to use them up and it really added to the from-the-bakery flavor. I will definitely be adding this recipe to my keeper file.

Chicken and Chorizo Pasta Bake

Reviewed on Aug. 25, 2008 by Dilnavaz
It was a tasty meal, I might make it again, but would probably tweak it more. Definitely was not a spicy dish (and I added a lot more red pepper flakes). I also seasoned it was Spanish Paprika and Cilantro. I used shrimp instead of chicken. I added an entire onion, an additional green bell pepper, used heavy cream because that's what I had on hand, and mixed in cheese before layering the top with the cheese.
